Kaspersky AntiVirus Personal Pro is an antivirus system that provides powerful, professional-level tools, wizards and antiviruses to protect your computer from any kind of viruses totally. The package includes AV Monitor, AV Scanner, Mail Checker, Rescue Disk Wizard, Script Checker, Updater, Inspector, Office Guard and, finally, Virus List Generator.

1) KAV Monitor v4.0.6.0
Don't be surprised by the version number because KAV
Monitor hasn't been modified after a release of KAV Personal Pro v4.0.6.0. It's
still the same in the new build.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Monitor (Kaspersky AV Monitor) is a memory resident program
that monitors files when these are accessed. Whenever somebody refers to an
object, the monitor checks the object to make sure that it is free of viruses.
If the object is found to be infected, the program will attempt to disinfect the
object, delete it, move it to a quarantine folder or allow it to be accessed,
depending on the options that were selected. This way the anti-virus monitor
allows you to detect and delete viruses before the system is actually infected.
The main advantage of KAV Monitor is that it provides the widest possible range
of options to set: you may choose what files and data to scan, enable code
analyzer (this option allows to find even viruses that are not in the database
of the antivirus), report save options, what to do with the infected files (you
may copy them to a special directory etc.), what effects to use during the
scanning and, finally, statistics views.
2) KAV Scanner v4.0.5.37
Don't be surprised by the version as well here.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Scanner (Kaspersky AV Scanner) is an anti-virus program
checking for viruses and deleting them on demand.
The program performs the following functions:
Detects and deletes viruses of all types in files located on user-predefined
disks, in boot sectors and RAM
Detects and deletes viruses from files that have been packed using PKLITE, LZEXE,
DIET, COM2EXE and other compression utilities
Detects viruses in archived files that have been archived using one of the
commonly used archivers, including ZIP, ARJ, LHA, RAR and etc
Detects viruses in local mailboxes of the most commonly used mail systems
Utilizes an improved heuristic detection tool that is able to search for unknown
viruses (up to 92% efficient).
This program searches your computer for viruses and allows professional-level
options for managing infected files, choosing scanning objects, customization
(for the maximum comfortable view of the scanning) and program options (program
control options). Scanner can only be run by a User or a default controlling
program (KAV Control Centre) but it provides wider set of options and priorities
for scanning than KAV Monitor.
All the other programs included in the KAV Personal Pro v4.0.8.0 package are smaller and less important than the ones already reviewed.
KAV Mail Checker - is a special utility for checking e-mails and e-mail databases for viruses. So it provides an extra protection from viruses that can spread by E-mail.
KAV Rescue Disk - is a special wizard that helps you in creating a special boot rescue floppy disk. So if your system crashes due to a virus infection you can always load this floppy in MS DOS, find and delete the virus.
KAV Script Checker - is an anti-virus program
that provides ultimate
protection for your computer against script viruses and worms executed directly
in the
memory of your PC. During the installation process Kaspersky Anti-Virus Script
Checker
imbeds automatically in the computer's operating system and doesn't require to
be started
manually afterwards.
KAV Updater - is a special wizard that helps you in updating Kaspersky Personal Pro AntiVirus. It updates antivirus bases and antivirus modules. So be sure that your antivirus system is up-to-date if you use.
KAV Inspector - is a special program that checks disks for modifications in files and directories. The program can be used as a supplementary anti-virus program to monitor changes on the disk.
KAV Office Guard - is a special program that provides an extra protection from Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP viruses that affect macros and other elements of MS Office. It uses special Office antivirus algorithms. So be sure all your docs and office data are protected if the Office Guard is on.
KAV Virus List Generator
- is a special program for generating a list of viruses that can be
identified by the antivirus system using its antivirus bases.
